Virginia International Music Festival
Our biggest festival event! Norfolk is home to the largest naval base in the world. When aircraft carriers return from months at sea, local TV stations cover the event. Norfolk is surrounded by the Hampton Roads harbor to the west, the Chesapeake Bay to the north and Virginia Beach and the Atlantic to the east. Participants can visit Colonial Williamsburg featuring Busch Gardens Theme Park or the beautiful beaches at Virginia Beach. The 71st “Norfolk NATO Festival’s Parade of Nations” will step off on Saturday morning (optional). Our festival for concert bands, orchestra's, jazz bands, and choir's; high school and middle school is on Friday.

The day begins with performances held right at the Six Flags Great Adventure theme park! Your group will be evaluated by our experienced and qualified Adjudicators who will present you with their comments, both written and digitally recorded. After the performance(s) your group will receive an on stage clinic. Both competitive and non-competitive participation are available! Immediately following your performance you will hit the Theme Park where you and your students will enjoy "Scores of Fun" as they thrill to the many rides and attractions.
Should your group wish to extend their trip for more than one day, our expert team of travel and music professionals can take care of all the details for you!

Your group will be evaluated by our experienced and qualified Adjudicators who will present you with their comments, both written and digitally recorded. After the performance(s) your group will receive a clinic and be presented with a Director/Award plaque with rating as you leave the performance site. Ratings of Gold, Silver and Bronze will be awarded. Your group, if applicable, can also be awarded outstanding soloist trophies. Immediately following your performance you will proceed to your designated Theme Park where you and your students will enjoy Scores of Fun as they thrill to the many rides and attractions! At the end of the day your group will return home, proud of their accomplishments and with renewed inspiration for your school’s music program. Our PAC for a Day program provides your students with adjudication, affirmation, motivation and stimulation, all key components of a successful music program.
